Welcome to the new
BGirlsBoats.com
Take a look around but please visit again soon
as new articles and features will be added very often
until the website is fully restored. I am going
"live" with the site a little early because so many
people are asking where it went. Soon I will have
thencomplete membership list, contact information for all
the new Board of Directors, The newly revised association
Charter, and other valuable information for the B-Girls
Reunion Association members. So, pardon our dust as we
continue to develop the website. You could consider this
site the "business" site for
the association. Visit the B-Girls Newsletter
Website for the latest news, photos, the ship's
store and other things I hope will be interesting to our
members.
B-Girls Reunion
a Great
Success!
Portland, Oregon appropriate reunion
location
Portland, Oregon, the home of
the USS Blueback (SS-581), last of the B-Girl boats was
the perfect place for the B-Girls Reunion Association reunion
in 2009. This is the 50th anniversary of the commissioning of
the three B-Girls boats. B-Girls shipmates enjoyed
touring the Blueback, pointing out differences between the
three boats as they each had variations in design and
equipment locations.
Next
Reunion-2011 Just Two
Years Away!
The members voted to hold future reunions
every two years instead of every three years. The site of
the next reunion has not been determined yet, but after
possible sites are investigated, the membership will have a
chance to vote on the final choice. Proposed sites include
Branson, Missouri, Houston or San Antonio, Texas, and
Nashville, Tennessee. Others may be considered as well. Watch
this website for announcements concerning the location of the
2011 association reunion. Paid up members will have a
say in that decision.
BGirlsBoats.com
Official Association
Website
You are visiting the official
website of the B-Girls Reunion Association, Inc. This is where
you will find official information concerning the
association membership, activities and other important
association news. The Membership list, the Eternal Patrol list,
the association charter and other official information
will be available here.
The companion website,
BGirlsForever.com is
the website for the B-Girls Association Newsletter and will
contain news and information of interest to the membership. It
will include articles about the B-Girls diesel submarines of
course, but will also feature articles about other diesel
boats, other Navy news, and news about individual members of
the association. This is also where you will find photos of the
boats, and the reunions as well as other interesting events and
subjects.
Make sure you visit both
sites often to keep up with what's going on with the
association and your fellow shipmates.
